Since we’re heading into the weekend, I thought I would take a side-trip to the 80s tonight with a mini-concert by Aztec Camera.
Always a favorite. Founded by Roddy Frame, whose razor-sharp lyrics and impeccable song-writing abilities put him several beats ahead of what most bands were doing at the time. That they (he) didn’t achieve the huge popularity in the States they should have enjoyed is something of a mystery. But then, how can you guess what an audience will respond to?
At any rate, here they are right at the break-out point, performing to a sold out house at Barrowlands in Glasgow on August 25th 1984. It’s an extended excerpt of a longer concert – but a nice change of pace for the nightly posts.
An excursion to the 80s never seems like a bad idea anyway.
Back to the new and unfamiliar tomorrow – promise.
